Those may feature in a marketing programme, but marketing is very much more. It is a strategic management process that creates value, so it is critical to the overall success of the organisation.

The value is created by applying some simple but powerful ideas to how you deal with markets, customers, competitors and your own resources.

Marketing involves planning, implementing and monitoring, but as in many other things the quality of outcome is highly dependent on the quality of thought that goes into it.
